Hello from Slow Construct, we hope you’re doing well.

Last month, we opened Safe & Sound, our first exhibition in New York in partnership with Leroy Street Studio. We welcomed more than 200 guests to Allen Street Gallery, bringing together 24 emerging, local, and independent architect-makers into the spotlight—it was an intimate and intentional showcase that caught the attention of AN Interior Mag in their review of NYCxDesign: Needle, Meet Haystack.

With one major event down, we’re gearing up for our next big gathering. To celebrate the community of architect-makers that make our built world and art world so unique, we’re putting on a summer cocktail party on June 26th—mark your calendar for the unofficial architecture party of the summer. Read on for the juicy details. ツ

Invite: Architect-Makers Cocktail Party

Join us on Friday, June 26th for an evening of cocktails, conversation, and a little architectural mischief. We’ll be hosting a 'napkin sketch' challenge where we prompt the human mind to turn an object—any object—into architecture. The most popular vote will have their sketch turned into a viable architectural project in seconds by Illoca, the AI-native design interface built for architects.

Cocktails by architect-mixologist Jeremy Son. Music by architect-DJ Alvaro Velosa. Vibey venue at Designers Collab, a curated experiential space in Williamsburg.

Spots are limited, RSVP here

Press Highlights: Safe & Sound Exhibition

We’re grateful to see Safe & Sound featured across several publications during its run. Besides the AN Interior Mag article, Dezeen highlighted Safe & Sound as one of ‘nineteen essential exhibitions to see during NYCxDesign 2026’ and selected 'Che-Wei Wang’s Good Night Light as one of the ‘weird, wonderful and well-made objects from NYCxDesign 2026’. A huge thank you to all participating designers and everyone who helped spread the word.

Guided Tours: Safe & Sound Led by Participating Architect-Makers

There’s still time to experience Safe & Sound before the exhibition closes. Join us for a guided tour led by architect-makers Nazanin Modares (Introvert Light) on June 5th and Vanessa Tai (Hold & Held) on June 19th for a private walkthrough exploring the stories, materials, and ideas behind the work.
