Hi there,
I hope you’ve been doing well since our last letter over a year ago. I’m excited to share that Gubns has now evolved into Slow Construct; part platform, part practice.
The platform is a space for architect-makers—designers at the intersection of architecture, craftsmanship and art—to connect, collaborate and share work.
The practice is where I work more directly with independent creatives or studios through marketing, communications and branding.
I am currently building out the platform’s programming, from exhibitions and workshops to site visits and roundtables. If you have ideas, suggestions or would like to collaborate, reply to this email - I’d love to hear from you!

Open Call: Safe & Sound Exhibition for NYCxDesign
Slow Construct is partnering with Leroy Street Studio to host Safe & Sound, an exhibition at Allen Street Gallery to coincide with NYCxDesign Festival. We invite architect-makers to submit work that evokes a sense of comfort, protection or belonging within the home—home is where we’re supposed to feel safe and sound.

Happy Hour for Architect-Makers (NYC)
(recap) Earlier this month we hosted a small gathering of architect-makers and built environment professionals at Beltane on Union Square. We met architects exploring craftsmanship from furniture to leather to ceramics, as well as founders, operators and curators. Stay tuned for our next meet-up or reach out to host a venue!

Coded Forms: Ceramic 3D Printing Workshop by Alejandra Rojas (NYC)
SC member Alejandra Rojas is teaching a ceramic 3D printing workshop where participants learn parametric design workflows and operate the printer hands-on in her studio. This two-part workshop takes you through the full process, from parametric model to finished vessel, in a small-group setting. No prior experience needed.

Yuqiao Guo’s Exhibition, Dream House, at Concordia Gallery (Beijing)
SC member Yuqiao Guo is having her solo exhibition, in parallel with fellow architect and artist Chi Wing Lo, at Concordia Gallery in Beijing from April 4 - May 12. The opening reception along with a symposium and guided tour will take place on April 4.

it’s electric: Building Demand for a New Kind of EV Infrastructure
We’re excited to be working with it’s electric, a startup offering affordable and equitable EV charging to city drivers by tapping into buildings’ electrical supply—bringing easy-to-deploy EV chargers to the curb and revenue sharing with building owners. We joined as a Growth Marketer to scale the startup’s reach across the US.
If you have questions, suggestions or would like to get involved with Slow Construct, feel free to reply to this email or consider forwarding it to someone who should be part of this space.
